Rail LatAm 2016 will bring over 100 senior decision makers representing passenger and freight railways, project leaders, governments and technology innovators from all over Latin America.

The event will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is being developed with the support of local rail operators.

Building upon the success of Metro LatAm 2016, we have developed a dedicated rail event, that will explore the key challenges faced by mainline rail and freight operators in Latin America.

The event will:

  • Explore the development of new projects in the region, and identify the strategies and technology solutions needed to ensure success.
  • Identify the best telecommunications solutions for long-distance freight and passenger rail, as well as high-frequency commuter lines.
  • Support upgrades to signaling technology to increase capacity and ensure safe operations
  • Help operators deliver an improved passenger experience with strategic onboard deployments and platform upgrades
  • Teach operators how to maximize efficiency to reduce costs and improve quality of service

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Buenos Aires has been chosen as the host city for the 2016 edition of Rail LatAm.

Argentina has the eighth largest rail network in the world and improving rail transport is seen as vital in the development of the country. The government has nationalized, restructured and dramatically increased investment in rail transport in the country.

The government invested US$647 million in rail upgrades in 2015 and around US$518 million is expected to be invested in 2016.

Rail LatAm 2016 will provide a platform for the leaders of Argentina’s freight, passenger and commuter railways to discuss new projects, learn from international case studies and identify efficient solutions to upgrade transport in the country

International Insight

As well as featuring presentations from Argentina’s policy makers, project leaders, rail operators and engineers, the event will also feature presentations from rail project directors from across Latin America.

This will enable regional collaboration, the exchange of experiences and the opportunity for attendees to network with over 100 railway leaders.
